upon reflection

Occasionally,  obviously when you have not been paying full attention perhaps, you will suddenly find that things have actually worked out to plan. You didn't even notice and it happened anyway. Okay, so maybe not exactly the way you thought it would be, but it's there.

a little warmth

There once was a crooked little stove pipe in a crooked little cottage...

And it is so nice to have a small woodfire going on chilly mornings! Looking forward to much more coziness this winter... as is Peach as well!

ceramic molds

It saddens me to know that the kiln has not been fired up here on Olive Street in... well, too very long.

I'm a clay person, and not a mold-using artist, but have these and many more at the ready for others to use! Anybody interested in giving classes maybe in 2024?

artist community - Waterville

I am so very excited to share this! Much like what we on Olive Street offer to artists seasonally through the residency program, these wonderful people are organizing for folks year round! Please see the contact info below

Artist Community - creating a living and studio

Do you know a local artist in the Waterville area? Are there any artists in the Waterville and Kennebec County interested in creating a artist Housing collaborative?

We're working with a small group of folks in our network to create something of an artist community - if you or someone you know are interested in getting involved, send us an email and we'll make the connections - info@HealthHousing.org

A few of us have a building owner willing to rent two 2br/1ba apartments (each with a full kitchen, and living room) in their 3 unit building with the opportunity to host artist feature/opening events and showing our art for sale at their other vacation properties/buildings if we can bring together 3-5 fellow artists (any type is welcome: paint, drawing, spoken word, writers...)!!!
For now we're hoping for the following:
$575/room/person, but we could get it discounted if we rent for all 4 bedrooms.
The goal now would be to use one of the living rooms as a shared studio space for everyone.

Wifi arrives at the Lodge

Now that the Lodge (formerly known as the Brook House) is finally ready to be used for Lakewood Community Housing, we've also made a big leap and have installed wireless internet service there!

With the ability to sleep eight folks at a time it is a community within itself, but which winter projects get completed will tell if it might just be home to the new LCH community kitchen space, or if that will be next door at the Gardener's cottage as currently planned.  An answer to this question will come in time for the 2024 auditions. For now, we still have two more shows, a prom and an awards banquet left to this season; so if you need a LCH place to stay, let us know!

All LCH stays on Olive Street at the Lodge, Cabbage, or Corner are by donation for the rest of the 2023 season  - reservations required.
